Puzzled: Nforce4 SLI out before Geforce 6800GT Pcie ?

While a couple of vendors have listed the 6800GT Pciexpress as available in recent days, they
have since disappeared. There are like two vendors that list the 6800 Ultras Pciexpress on
Pricewatch, but they of course are out of stock with no ETA.

This basically leaves the Geforce 6600s as the only available card. However, the single
and SLI combinations of this card is simply not up to par for hardcore gamers. If you're
going to blow $250+ on a motherboard, you're going to want what the 6800GT or higher offers.

It just doesn't make sense to buy 2 6600s right now for your SLI board. SLI 6600s basically tap out at the performance of a single 6800GT. To get the real benefits of SLI in you need 2 6800GT or 2 6800 Ultras.

By the info on Pricewatch it does strongly appear that SLI boards will be available for real shipment in next 2 to 3 weeks. So why are there no 6800GTs Pcie?

For those who are chomping at the bit to get SLI boards, what are you planning on doing?

Has anyone heard reliable information on when 6800GT Pcie will actually be available?

I for one won't order an SLI board until I can order 2 6800GT or 2 6800 Ultras.

Thoughts?

1 out of every 5500 potential PCI-e video card buyers will be looking @ SLI. The rest of the 5499 PCI-e video card buyers will be slipping their card in Intel PCI-e motherboards for the time bieng...

From what's on Pricewatch today, we'll have SLI boards from Asus, Abit, DFI, and Gigabyte by the end of the year... for real shipping. However, no signs of 6800GTs to put in them.
