When i turn my computer on standby, and when i come back to use it again, it takes it probably about 5 mins to recover from standby mode. plus on top of that my computer wont have any sound (for example nothing comes out of the speakers when listening to mp3s).

Ordinarly i would think that this is a soundcard problem, however im thinking it might not be so because windows xp is already having a few problems just coming back from standby mode (as it takes 5 mins just to recover from standby).

I didn't have this problem until i formateed by harddrive again, and reinstalled everthing. So im not exactly sure what to do. If anyone has some insight on this problem, it would be greatly appreciated!

My comp setup up is
windowsxp home
turtle beach santa cruz
epox 8kha+ mother

Don't put it in standby? 🙂

The only reason, IMHO, anyone should put their computer in standby or hibernation is if they have a laptop. Other than that, there really isn't any reason to.
