Okay im looking at 1000$-1500$ Prefferebly 1000$,
Anyways, im looking at 2x 3800, probably up to 1Gb memory. As for the video card and motherboard, im completely blank on this one. Id like to be able to play newer games, probably on medium setting will settle for less. I think i may be good once i figure out the motherboard. To many choices eeeeeek

Thanks for the Reply thou

How about DFI lan Party? I may Overclock later on, it looks dandy. 220$

EDIT:
AMD Athlon 2x 3800+ 939 185$
DFI LanParty NF4 SLI-DR 214$
Antec P180 159$
Antec TruePower 2.0 480W 99$
Nvidia 7600GTS 159$
Seagate 200GB Barracuda 7200.8 SATA 104$

What am i missing? im at 920. Il get the Cooling and other little tid bits in a sec.

That looks very overpriced w/o a monitor. Check out ibuypower, though those are some top components. I'm unfamiliar with the company though.

Looks like i will have to put one together then.

What are the basic components

Motherboard
Processor
Memorry
HD
Video card
Case
PSU

Anything else?

EDIT: Motherboards with DDR 800, That means it will suppor memory 6400? Blah, im so outdated.

EDIT2: K, Everyones asleep 🙁

Go here and pick a descent motherboard not to expensive. Something that will work with 2X 3800. Pretty thanks 🙂

From what I've read, if you think that you may upgrade to a DirectX 10 video card in the future, your power supply may be too weak. I don't know anything about this personally, but I have heard that they may require an additional 200-300 watts over current cards.

For $1k, why not go with a core 2 duo setup? you could get an e6300/6400 or even a e6600 if you want. Get the gigabyte ds3 motherboard and corsair/crucial/patriot/ocz ddr2800 ram. You should be able to overclock that to well over the performance of the x2 3800.
by the way those prices are too high. where are you looking those up from? Newegg.com has the p180 for under 120, 3800 is around 135 i think.

DO NOT GET A 7200.8 DRIVE! They're so failure prone, it's ridiculous. I had on in my PC, failed in less than two months. A friend of mine had one in his Xbox. Don't know how long it's been there, (can't be more than a year old), but I can hear it clicking and occasionally it stops completely and then restarts. If you're going to get a Seagate, get a 7200.9 drive.

Built mine in my sig for $1300, and I LOVE it, 3dmark06 of 5864 at stock clock. Add an o\c to the chip and video card and that number will jump some more
