putting a cd payer into my 89 Buick LeSabre = my death

I thought it would be easy! Just pull out the old tape deck, and plug in the new CD player!
How simple!
this was my first time installing a CD player into a car, and i guess i just thought the plugs in the back would match!

does anybody know a good place where i can get some schematics for my car, or some sort of addapter?

man this isn't fun, why did i think this was going to be fun?

head over to circuit city or your local radio shop, its not that tough, you buy an adaptor that fits your car, plug it into the connecter going itno your car, then cut off the other side of the adapter you bought and splice those wires with the ones coming from the cd player.

you can most likely get the wiring harness adapter from murrays/pep boys/kmart. You may be sorry splicing up your wires. Haynes/Clymer manuals are available at the same stores if you choose to follow the wiring guide, but you probably won't be able to comprehend them if you need to ask where to get them. Just get the harness adapter (under $10) and your install will be as simple as crimping the radio harness into the aftermarket harness.

I have a 87 Buick LeSabre. Get the wireharness everybody is talking about ($8-12), and a Mounting kit ($10-14), and a small bag of butt connectors ($2-3).
Go slow and take your time, should take about 1/2, but being your first time it will take 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
