Well, yeh, but he spins alternative facts highly pleasing to the Supreme Commander. You know God wanted Trump to be Prez, right?
I don't think Trump has given any thought to what God wants. He's not a religious guy. His focus is on getting what HE wants. Big problem is, he doesn't really know what he wants. He likes to be in luxurious circumstances, he likes to be the center of attention. He likes having lots of money. He hates being disparaged, although he generally doesn't really comprehend what's going on when that happens his instinct is to fight back tooth and nail.

And Ratcliffe is out. Guess Trump will need to find a new deplorable to fill that void. Hopefully they aren't as shitty as Ratcliffe was.

I have hope that he will find someone as bad if not worse for the position. Look at the pool he has to choose from.

I love that the reason is "unfair media coverage" accurately depicting the nominee's record and, apparently, his many lies about it.

Before his nomination was pulled, two White House officials downplayed questions about Ratcliffe's qualifications, saying the thinking among some inside the White House was that Ratcliffe's lack of national security experience was not as much of an issue.

#MAGA!

And the revolving door goes round.
The Trump administration should just hire a temp agency to fill the leadership positions on a day-to-day basis.

He basically has with all the "acting" staff and cabinet officials. He loves the actors.

Next candidate: A suspiciously record-free, mustachioed individual named Pladimir Vutin.

Remember guys, based on the article linked in the OP, the original plan was to axe the office of DNI in the first place! If there's no one available for the job...well that's just dandy.

My bet is that a freaking our Moscow Mitch is what killed this. I can see the wheels in his head turning, "I confirm that comrade and they will be calling me Moscow's Bitch. Woof woof woof."

I figure Trump wanted Ratcliffe because he's a proven teller of tall tales of the scurrilous variety. His performance during Mueller's testimony was bald faced mendacity, something Trump values in his team. It's like Michael Cohen said- Trump has an uncanny ability to pick subordinates who will lie for him. He corrupts everything he touches.

Trump won’t let #2 Susan Gordon take over as acting director after Coats leaves

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/02/us/politics/john-ratcliffe-sue-gordon.html

The White House is planning to block Sue Gordon, the nation’s No. 2 intelligence official, from rising to the role of acting director of national intelligence when Dan Coats steps down this month, according to people familiar with the Trump administration’s plans.

The decision to circumvent Ms. Gordon, who has served as the principal deputy director in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, will probably upset Republicans and Democrats in the Senate.

Mr. Trump did not allow Ms. Gordon to personally deliver a recent intelligence briefing after she arrived at the White House, according to a person familiar with the matter.

So...what’s his issue with her? Not his type? [meaning, not loyal to Trump?]

She's respected and, apparently, good at her job. She'll be gone in 6 months or less.

He NEEDS a comrade in that position cause the intelligence investigations into Trump is still ongoing.... Its more obstruction of justice. Simple as that. Its OK cause Trump knows he is innocent so its not really obstruction if you are innocent. Right Slow?

Actually I would have loved to have seen Ratcliffe answer questions about QAnon conspiracy theories, and how the entire US intelligence service is conspiring against his Dear Leader. Would have been an interesting dumpster fire. The Harriet Miers of spydom.

Individual1 says he lets the press vet his nominees after they're announced, because it's cheaper than doing the vetting himself.

https://secondnexus.com/news/trump-a...etting-press/?

Lol...He said this after he finished badmouthing the press and saying the media was "very unfair" and very terrible to Ratcliffe. He can't go two minutes without talking out both sides of his mouth.
