This is what happens when you send all your jobs overseas.

Parasitic is a good description.

He does sound jealous though that China has gotten the lions share of the jobs while Russia has depended on the oil revenue.

Putin says U.S. is "parasite" on global economy

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin accused the United States Monday of living beyond its means "like a parasite" on the global economy

"They are living beyond their means and shifting a part of the weight of their problems to the world economy"

Putin, who has often criticized the United States' foreign exchange policy, noted that Russia holds a large amount of U.S. bonds and treasuries. "If over there (in America) there is a systemic malfunction

"Countries like Russia and China hold a significant part of their reserves in American securities ... There should be other reserve currencies."

Yeah but they weren't using that stuff anyway. As long as we can keep the system going, hooray for us. Give us your oil; here are some Disney movies. Win-win.

"Countries like Russia and China hold a significant part of their reserves in American securities ... There should be other reserve currencies."

Mostly propaganda, but i found this quip interesting.

Though other reserve currencies will certainly vie for domininance over the next decade, there is good reason that countries like Russia and China hold significant part of their reservers in the greenback. To make the above statement without acknoloweding the reasons for the greenbacks dominance is disengenious.

For one there really have not been many if any alternatives. Other countries known for stability like Switzerland have currencies without the required size to be suitable.

On a related note, trading greenbacks for the Swiss franc over the past year has been a huge win. It feels like stealing tbh.

DON'T GIVE A JOLLY SHIT ABOUT PUTIN....

\was that clear enough?

give or not give a damn, he is mocking and taunting USA, and USA will pretend that they didn't hear anything or will say something about "civil rights issues in Russia"

Your point being? Russia was broken fighting ideas-progress that they could never see were the future...

"Putin says U.S. is "parasite" on global economy"

Then it must be true ...

I know in my heart there is no envy on his part ...

Likely not said to the US, but to Others in an attempt to draw them from the sphere of influence of the US. The last Decade+ has created the perfect atmosphere for rivals to regain ground on the International stage. The whole World \facepalms as it watches the Soap Opera you call a Government and how it repeatedly fails at making anything resembling good Policy.

Seeing that Russia itself does not even have a AAA rating he needs to clean his own house up before he worries about others.

I think Russia is still in the B range (triple BBB?)

If he truely feels this way surely they will convert their holdings of US debt + Treasuries to something else right?
