Smith came out of the home about 7 p.m., but because he didn’t surrender to police peacefully and compliantly, officers said they had to fire bean bag shots at him. When officers tried to handcuff him, police said he tried to attack them with a knife.

The bigger morale of the story is, don't burglarize other people's homes. Looks to me like the cops were in the right the whole time. If you want to dispute the stabbing attempt, fine, the court will decide that. Doesn't change the fact that he is rightfully going to jail.

Color me wrong if I am, but the Bean Bagie looks black to me and you can see the evil in his stare. My guess is the bean bag was just a precaution.

Yes, he's lucky he was only hit with a potentially lethal weapon instead of outright killed for no reason. Only failure here is you.

I think the article fairly clearly explains that he attempted to stab them with the knife when they went to handcuff him. Were you assuming the guy was going to walk to jail by himself without police coming within 20 yards of him?

About that video, you can't hear anything the cops are saying its just a bunch of crowd noise. If he was parading around (which is frankly what his actions look like in the video) and not complying with their instructions then I guess I don't see anything wrong with them using non-lethal force to make him comply.

Cops do stupid shit all the time, criminals do it even more often but your constant posts raging about alleged cases of police brutality without even having all the facts just get old.

From the video I can see a very different narrative than the one you pushing, but honestly I don't know since we don't have access to all the information.

Lol, I'd be lucky to even see straight after getting nutted with that thing. Video was weird. The dude looked like he strutted out of the house to fan faire. He got out of view behind a cop car and they shot at him. Then the crowd erupted with anti-cop stuff. I think they thought the police actually shot him with a bullet. I'm not sure what the proper protocol is for use of non-lethal force in a SWAT scenario. They may have been in the right if they had knowledge that he was armed and could have posed a threat if approached. We will see in the follow up investigation.

Got to get the cuffs on somehow. Prefer that they billy club him? Pepper spray him? Taser him?

Hopefully the guy doesn't fall down any stairs while in jail for making some pigs look bad.

yea sorry about the video guys.

I saw the video on youtube, then searched for a news article on the situation. The article had a still from what I thought was the video and a "play" symbol over it. I just kinda figured that was the video.
