Put XP into Hibernate, now PC won't turn on.

My friend put his computer into Hibernate, and now it won't come out of it. When you power the computer on you can hear the hard drives power up and the CPU fan, but then it slows down and nothing happens. Keyboard and mouse won't wake it up, unplugging the power won't wake it up, clearing cmos or anything won't wake it up.

It's a Dell Dimension, I told him I would look at it to see if I could think of something, and I'm not having any luck. Do you think it might be the PSU or another hardware problem and it's just a coincidence that it happened the same time he tried to put it in hibernate? He says he's used it all the time and this is the first time this has every happened. The power button just stays orange and nothing works no matter what I remove or do.

If anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated.

Try physically removing the battery, then starting only with the A/C adapter. Hibernate is really an abomination that should be disabled.

Just tried it and that didn't work. I looked more closely inside of Dell's CPU cooling system and the fan actually is not spinning when the computer is turned on. The LED on the MB is green when I plug in the AC cable, but when I turn the PC on, the front LED power button is still orange, and I can hear the hard drives, but nothing else wants to go, with or without the battery.

He didn't give me the restore CD but I can already tell you no, because the DVD drive won't even open, the hard drives are the only thing that I can hear power on and that's only for a second then everything sounds quiet. It makes me think it could be the PSU, but I don't have one on me at the moment, I'll have to wait a day or 2 before I can get one.
