i put another heatsink on top of the chipset heat sink because i twas getting quite hot and more heatsink means more heat to spread around to the heatsinks. I glued them together using heatsink paste do you think this is a good idea?

In a word, no.

Removing both heatsinks, applying thermal paste to the bare chip, reattaching 1 heatsink with a 486 (or other small) fan on top will do a better job. Two heatsinks sandwiched together do not make it twice as good at dissapating heat, they might actually act as insulation. Most cheapie 486 type fans will usually fit, if you want something a little nicer you can look at what Ian at 2cooltek has to offer. Good luck :)
