Push Lawn Mower

A larger wheel makes it easier to push in rough patches. Is your lawn like a golf green with no bumps? Or does it have bumpy patches?

I've never used one, but I would say yes, it's worth the 30$, unless your yard is small or very level/manicured.

Very bumpy, and at parts there are tree roots protruding to the surface.
The roots are actually so bad I have to weed wack that portion. But that I plan to get a yard or so of top soil.

If I were to get this lawn mower is the 3YR In-Shop Repair Protection Agreement for $54.99 worth it? It covers everything except the blade.

EDIT: Isn't 78lbs a bit heavy for a push mower?

78 doesn't seem too bad, but you could check it out in the store. Mine, which is a 4.5 HP murray and I bought last year, must way 60 give or take.

Looks good. Keep that oil changed, and it'll last you a long while.

78lbs sounds about right. You figure 35 for the engine and 35 for the deck.. maybe a bit on the high side, but its not something I would worry about unless you're going to have to pick it up all the time.

Those cheap nylon hubs will be cracked and useless in just a few years, so be prepared to cough up quite a few bucks to replace those rear ones, if they even make steel hub replacements.

5.5hp?

go 6 or go home!

lol; I have a 6.5 hp briggs powered craftsman. I started out w/ a honda powered mower but hated the FWD and absolute lack of power. My grass is very very dense, and will bog down most mowers. The honda didn't have the torque.

Agreed. We use 140HP turbo diesel International with a PTO driven Bushhog. The extra ponies are great when cutting 3ft+ weeds and brush.

You did say go big or go home right? 😀

how do you guys clean your mowers?

.50 acres. I would like this rear engine rider with internal bagging system Note in the description the Operating System link. MS is getting their hands into everything these days.

Hose out the bag and deck and let it dry before next use.

why the heck does it talk about an OS on a mower page?
