I was hoping someone could help me with this. In the movies you always see these scenes of a some computer hacker who presses a set of keys on their keyboard to start a program/script to purge a set of files or folders while the FBI is beating down their door.... Is there such a script or program that will do just that?

I know sounds like a strange request...

Any help would be appreciated!

Moving to Software for Windows, since it sounds like what you really need is some privacy protection advice.

First question is what are you trying to hide?

An easier solution, if you are just paranoid about security, is to fully encrypt the system with a strong algorithm and strong passphrase. Then you wouldn't have to worry about "purging". Just kill the power strip to the computers, and everything is encrypted.

If wiping certain files is what you really want to do, this might be of interest. (Assuming you don't have XP Home), just create a shortcut to that command, add a hotkey, and you can have exactly what you asked for. (You might need a batch file if you have lots of disparate files to delete.)

However, wiping files is slow. I'd estimate wiping all files on a half-full drive with that cipher command would take 50% more time than formatting that drive. What you probably want instead is http://www.truecrypt.org/
