I know that I could go cheaper on some stuff like the cpu but I dont want to. I want the best of teh best. I dont care if its only a little bit better and you think im being stupid so please leave those comments out.

The one thing that is missing from this system is a liquid cool system for it. Unfortunately I have yet to find one that would work for the 1366 processor. If you know of one that is high quality that will allow for high overclocking (3.2 to 5ghz) please let me know right away. I would really appreciate it.

Also this is just for my own personal benefit. I have 1 sata drive right now if I take that drive and place it into my new pc as an extra backup will that effect the performance of my system. Basically if I take this slow drive and put it into my system will it hurt its performance.

One last thing that I will be purchasing with this setup

15. Projector http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16889106017 Benq w500 1280x720 3lcd 720p (for playing some killer games) 999.99

New total: 6424. 85

Best discount newegg will give is 5 percent off the shipping so 20 bucks lol.

Quick breakdown of questions

1. Liquid cooling system for the I7 core systems
2. Old hardrive in new system. Will it affect teh speed of the other drives or make the pc run slower in anyway?
3. Anything else I could purchase to make this a better system.
4. Does anything on this system not go togeather

example. Motherboard into the case power supply into the case. video cards fit in,

EDIT added blueray burner.

SLI doesn't double your effective VRAM:

"Q: Doesn't adding a second card in SLI double my VRAM?
A: This is a very common misconception. When two video cards are in SLI, both memory subsystems are concurrently utilized but are not combined or treated as a single volume. The two GPUs are drawing the same resources to draw the frame, so if their VRAM subsystems were combined the cards would have to communicate back and forth across the SLI bridge/PCI-Express bus to access required information. That would amount to tremendous latency, or in other words, major performance reductions. When the GPUs require a new bit of information, say a texture, that data is loaded to both card's memory at the same time since they're both rendering the same scene.

Same goes for clock speeds, pixel pipelines, vertex shaders, stream processors, etc. If it makes it easier to understand, SLI is basically the act of introducing a second video processor."

Get a Blu-Ray burner? You're already spending tons of cash. What's another $100 to $150? You have a 25" LCD, you might as well use it as an entertainment system with the occasional Blu-Rays. While they are costly now, it's pretty much a no-brainer that it'll replace DVD's for the "Super Duper Director's Cut Platinum Special Edition" version of movies.

At 1280x720 the games won't be "killer" just wounded.

Drop the projector and HP monitor...
Get a Samsung XL30 (with LED back lighting).:laugh:

Enjoy every waking moment of this PC because in about 2 or 3 years my $450 system will crush it.

If you are only getting the ssd for the os then this one is faster: here Though it is small.

Or you could drop it all together and pay for my textbooks next term :p

Oh and what Blain said, get a 1080p projector

Ok, well, you need a cpu cooler.

Try Thermalright 120 Extreme BLACK + 2x Noctua NF-P12 Fans in Push-Pull.

(Most epic cpu air cooling money can buy)

the projector is for movies that I can display at like 10 feet. My 65 inch lcd projection wasnt cutting it anymore. The projector Isnt for gaming sorry I should have mentioned that. and thankyou for mentiononing the blue ray. It wasnt even anything that I thought of. I will add that to the list.

wow that should have said for watching killer movies my bad lol. If i was goin to get one for games I would get the 1920x1080 one from newegg. lol i will chalk that one to being over excited blew my load a little bit to soon. my bad lol. I do plan on hooking up my 360 ps3 up 2 it though. but I wasnt talking about that in my post.

But either way anything else I should purchase to maek this system better and 4 questions still remain

1. If I place my old hardrive in there as extra storage will that affect the performance of the system in any way shape or form

2. is that power supply enough for this whole system.

3. Where can i get a good liquid cooling system. or a cooling system that works thats good.

4. Will everything fit into this case. It should but I just wanna double check

The Thermalright 120 Extreme BLACK + 2x Noctua NF-P12 Fans in Push-Pull I didnt see the bracket for the 1366 proccessor

Try the thermalright website, there are brackets for lga 1366 mobo's.

Get the 1080p projector, you have bluray, so if you're going to watch a movie, you want it to be displayed at it's native resolution, and FULL HD = 1080p.

No, using your old HDD for storage won't have a negative effect on performance, as long as it's only used for storage.

The PSU will be enough, but I would get this PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817153054 and run TRI-SLI GTX280's. Drop the i965 down to a i940, the difference between a i965 and i940 is FAR smaller then having an extra GTX280. Or just do both, and get a i965 and tri-sli GTX280's.

The only thing POSSIBLY not fitting in the case could be the PSU; you'd have to look up the dimensions of the PSU yourself though, and look up the dimensions of the case. Perhaps someone in the cases and cooling forum can tell you.

Maybe you should forget about raid, and order another intel x25-m for games.

Btw, MANY reviews have shown that raid array's do NOT speed up loading times for games. In fact, a standard HDD trades blows with a raptor: link

A velociraptor is faster of course, but so is a x25.

Raid controller for PCIe x1 slot
Attach two of the Intel SSD drives in Raid 0.
Plus: two 300 Gb Velociraptor drives in Raid 0, attached to the onboard Intel Raid controller.
Add an external eSATA 1 Tb. HD for backup, which would need to only intermittently be powered on.

For power supply: a 1200 Watt PSU is probably excessive, and near the outer limit for one regular 115 V. household U.S. power circuit. May need to wire in a second electrical circuit from the breaker box, for powering any peripherals.

Is the neural impluse actuator a joke?

edit: wow, it's not. But you need to do your homework a bit more. There aren't any 64-bit drivers for that thing. Which, you will be using as you will be running Vista-64 yes?

Once you get your case and parts, head over to the cases and cooling section and talk to Aigo about setting up an H20 system. Do exactly as he says

thanks mna. I will post all my benchmarks here also so everyone can see what im working with.

Ok if I got rid of the raid controller card and used the raid controller that comes with the asus motherboard what kinda performance can i expect. Will there be a huge difference. If there isnt then I will just do that and run 3 sli. But I wanna make sure im not goin to criple my drives doing that.
