Hi,

I'd like to get a budget case for my laptop computer, but I'm a bit confused about the capacities. The following case caught my eye:

Targus case

The problem is that while it says:

Fit Most Screen Size 15"/15.4"

it also says:

Capacity 14.33" x 1.69" x 11.81"
Dimensions 13.5" x 7.6" x 17.3"

I believe my laptop is 15.4". How come the capacity and dimensions are smaller than the "fit most screen size"?

thanks

I'd suggest buying a laptop case that doesn't look like one. The Targus logo is a sticky finger magnet...

I believe screen measurement is on the diagonal, while the backpack and notebook dimensions are not - those are L/W/Thickness - most 15.4 " notebooks are approx. 14" long x 10" wide.

.bh.

I'll second what Zepper says.

Get yourself a tape measure and measure your actual laptop. You'll find your exact measurements. 15.4 is the diagonal. That's how video screens have been measured for over 50 years!

I have the Laptop Messenger from Timbuk2. Designed by bike messengers, this bag is comfortable as hell to have slung over your shoulder and the lined and padded laptop sleeve is excellent. These are well made bags and are comfortable. Fits my 15.4 inch WS laptop perfectly.
