Hello,

I'm thinking about purchasing a few used PS3 games from gamefly. I'm concern about the conditions of their used games; also does it come with the case and manual? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've purchased one game through Gamefly and the condition of the game was very good.

If you purchase a game you are currently renting, Gamefly mails you the case and the manual for free. If you purchase a used game that you are not currently renting you get the the case, the manual, and the game.

Yeah, that was part of my problem too. I get a much faster turn around from Blockbuster Online. I ended up canceling my Gamefly sub partly because of that and I just wasn't playing enough at the time to justify the cost. It's a great service though if you are a high moderate to heavy gamer.

PS3 games should be OK in general - BR-Ds supposedly have some sort of coating that makes them _very_ hard to scratch.

Sorry, I should have been clearer about that. I meant I get a better turn around time with the movie service for Blockbuster Online.

They don't have a game service. The best Blockbuster has for games is if you subscribe to Blockbuster Online then you can exchange the movies you get in the mail in-store for games for $5 (instead of $8).

I bought DMC4 and Mass Effect from them a few months ago during their $20 sale. Both games are in great shape, never would guess they were used rentals.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. It's my first time buying second hand games, hope it turns out ok. I was browsing Gamestop site, their price on used games is almost the same as new. Unbelievable.

I bought a used game from Gamefly, and it was essentially brand new condition. It even had the "Security Device Enclosed" stickers on it (though they were cut to open the case).

I think they are generally overstock of underperforming games.

Gamefly usually is like $12-$17 off newer games. The good thing about it is if you dont like it you dont have to buy. Worth the $15 a month if you're like me and buy games and dont like them. I have a bunch of games I wouldnt have bought, even highly discounted, because it either got too repetitive, was too short with no replay value. or just sucked. Better than renting at blockbluster at $8 a pop. Unless I really have to have a game right away, I plan on buying from Gamefly.

It depends. Gamespot occasionally runs 20-25% off sales on used games that stacks with their EDGE card for an additional 10% off. Older games are a good deal but recent releases are usually only $5 cheaper.

But Gamefly runs some really good sales. Like I believe they have Haze and some other PS3 games for $9.99 right now.

Sorry if this a little off topic. Gamefly has Condemned 2: Bloodshot for 17.99, and Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Vegas for 14.99. Are they worth it for single player? I don't play online much due to my connection. Thanks.

condemned graphiclly looks awesome. even for a console title. i have vegas 2, and i think its pretty cool.
vegas one was pretty cool for 360. terrorist hunt would be worth-it alone for 14.99

Gamefly seems a lot faster now that I live in a real part of the country. Once the post office scans the returned game, gamefly sends your next game. Of course this isn't available in all areas.

I've bought one game from their store and it came in excellent condition with the case, manual, and inserts.

In general I've been really impressed with gamefly on everything but shipping. Given where their shipping centers are, im not surprised.

The part i DO like about it is that I can rent a game, have it for a month, if I dont like it ill return in within a few days. If i like it (and we'll just say its a new-ish game), I can keep it for 3-4 months before it gets MORE expensive than buying outright. If i REALLY like it, ill keep it for a month or whatever, decide i really like it, buy it for usually 15-20 dollars off the store price ANYWAY, and get to demo the game first. I break out even or better no matter which way you slice it.

Only downside is you dont get the newest games right away that way...but not a big deal for me.

i live in CT, which is only a few states away from there shipping center in PA....it took me close to a week to receive new games...sometimes longer...took them several days to show up as scanned, then another several days to say shipped. so basically friday to friday...
