Purchased New Video Card!!!

I just purchased my new video card Saphhire Radeon 9800pro 256bit 128 mb... for 150$

Does anybody have this card and how well does this run? Im just hoping i could run source, guildwars at highests ettings with smooth gameplay

An older card, but I forsee it having no issues running those games smoothly at decent detail. I had no problems with my radeon 9700 running HL2 at 10x7 2x/4x AA/AF, so you should be able to run 1280x960 with the same detail.

it is not better - my friend has one and it outperforms my dad's radeon 9800 pro alot. it gets 8000+ in 3dmark and the radeon gets 5000+. also, it can handle much higher res at faster speed. although its only 128 bit, thats what keeps the price down.

ok to prove you wrong:

Thanks. I was too lazy to go find a direct shootout. I just sent him to 6600 vs 9800XT - close enough.

i mean the gt, u know. i know the regular 8800 is slower, but the gt is faster. i really can't tell: i have a 6800gt and its better than all of them.

pci is much cheaper if u have it. the 6600 is alot better too, it has the superscalar architechture and ps 3 and the amazing cinefx 3 engine - try to get it if you can its a great deal.

you linked to the 6600 vanilla, feel free to admit you are wrong

Ok, my oc'd 9800p gets 2931 in 3dmark05 (pic). Until somebody post a pic of an oc'd 6600 vanilla getting a higher score (on a similar system), Im gonna say BS on anyone claiming it's faster. And, if you don't oc, the 6600 is way slower, it's not even a contest.

theres some out there but they have like clocks up to 600core 700 mem. insane cooling was used imo.

Yes it is.

9800 Pro/XT will slightly outrun a 6600 vanilla. A 6600GT will tool the 9800 Pro/XT cards.

Yeah um, that's what we're talking about here, the vanillla NOT the GT, and there is no PCI-e 9800 so a PCI-e 6600 is going to be worthless to the OP

Careful, the AGP system is using an A64 4000+ and the PCIe system is using a comparatively slow P4-560. Those benches aren't a valid comparison, IMO. Try finding benches using the same CPU on both platforms.
