Paint the cabinets white. Don't bother replacing the appliances until they die. They'll die soon enough, they all crap now. Just set aside some of the 6k against the day. Stone counter tops are noisy so stick with what's there or go for the solid resin stuff.

What does the dining room open onto? I prefer french doors to sliding doors.

The living room isn't bad though a bit lighter would be better and something lighter in the dining room as well.

For the master bedroom it would be difficult to make a change in the color scheme that isn't an improvement. I tend to the "paint it all white" camp of home decor.

If the floors aren't damaged then I would leave them as is.

As for furniture, I'm a minimalist. Small, functional pieces over giant poofy sofa-as-cloud stuff. I prefer room to move around over lots of stuff.

Are you responsible for the HVAC or roof? How old are they? If you are responsible then you might want to set aside some money for future repairs.

Edit: paint the bedroom door to match the room or a slightly darker tint.

HVAC and roof are covered under the home owners association, and were all replaced 2 years ago. I plan to repaint every room, I dont like any of the colors that the previous owner had (except maybe the dining room, but im still repainting it).

The bathrooms are already decently updated, Ill post up pictures later.

As for the stripper pole, I don't think the lady of the house would want one of those haha (Or would she!?? 😀 )

insulating the outer walls will have more effect for energy savings. you can probably assume the adjacent units will be climate controlled. if you are talking about for noise reduction, maybe that will work. a lot probably depends on the actual construction.

i say repaint for sure. kitchen looks dated, id consider redoing the cabinets (paint? i dunno) and new appliances

True-ish, but there's an article or two out there saying that a significant (meaning more than not important) chunk of heat loss is through the "party walls" in semi-detached/row houses. Depending on construction, there may be a nice hollow/straight channel for heat to go straight up to the roof and leave.

OP: Get rid of the "funny" colours, especially the paint. A very light grey or tan is the "can't go wrong" color.

I'd go a grey and white baseboards...you really need new cabinets and new appliances!

when I did my laminate floors, I did white quarterround on 5" baseboards from HD and really like the way they turned out...

I never liked matching the quarter round to match the floor color...

also did the bathroom

quarter round is super easy to put in (need a mitersaw and nail gun/compressor)....

Pull a couple electric outlet face plates and see quality of insulation. More than likely it could usr some. Professional blow in for about $500. Check attic also. If poor quality, you will save 15-25% on heating/cooling costs. Also chec k window thermal loss

Had the home inspector come today, everything looked great! Electricity is excellent, the furnace and heater were replaced in 2006, and no plumbing work needs to be done 🙂. Only 1 window needs to be replaced because of a crack. Just needs some good paint and a kitchen re-model! 😀

He told me the insulation in the walls was excellent, and nothing needs to be done.

It's ugly as sin... so there's that.
