Hi,

I ended up purchasing a computer from a company that went with newer systems. It has the COA with a Serial Number (Windows 2000 Server - 5 seat license) but no media. How do i go about finding the correct media such that I can install the OS and keep it legal? The company I purchased the computer from doesn't have the media anymore. Can I just borrow any Windows 2000 Server CD and use the Serial Number from the COA?

Ok...I just borrowed an IT's CD and it doesn't accept the COA # that I typed in....hmmmm......why is this? Are there different batches of CD's that will only work with certain ranges of Serial #?

Might be that you need a specific type of key.
Like XP Pro and XP Pro VLK (Corporate, volume license) need different keys.
If you have a 5 license key and you're trying to use it on single license software it might not play ball.
