Purchased 128 mb pc133 Micron. Doesn't work in my Abit BH6!

Does anyone know if PC133 ram will work on my motherboard? I thought PC133 would be compliant with PC100. I am overclocking a 633 Celeron to 950. However I don't know why this stick of memory isn't working. My other 128 stick of Micron memory is PC100 and it works with my system. I plugged the Pc133 by itself and the computer just doesn't boot. Please help if you can!
Thanks!

It should have no problems.
I still have my old BH6 and i once had ram problems and i swaped around what slot each one was in and it worked fine.
Give that a try.

It is possible the new stick of PC133 is bad, but try ALL the dimm slots and on another working PC if possible.

Tried moving the ram around and still no change. How can you tell if it's high density single stranded?

Single sided ram has chips only on one side. High density refers to the size in Mbits of the individual chips. Most 128MB single sided DIMMS are high density because there is less room for chips on the module. I've actually found older Abit boards like the BF6 not to like dual sided memory regardless of chip size. You say it won't boot but is that into Windows or does it even post. Try playing with the SP(serial presence) detect or Auto Detect DIMM/PCI BIOS options if you can access the BIOS.
A Celeron at 950MHz is really pushing the limits, try downclocking a bit and see what happens. - M.

I have the Same board and i have 2x128mb double sided Dimms and 1x64mb single sided Dimm.
Ive had no problems with the 128's, but i did have sometrouble with the 64, swapped slots and its ok.
BTW, they are all pc100.

Put the old DIMM back in it and up the BIOS to latest version? I've never heard of BIOS upgrades helping with Chip compatability, but you never know.

You "ARE" trying to run it at 100MHZ bus aren't you? and not 133...

To tell the Chip density, just divide the Size of DIMM (128) by the number of Chips and X by 8 and that's the CHip density in BITS. If it's a single-sided 8 chip DIMM, it has 128Mbit chips, which are semi-high density. 256 is currently the highest. (there are 4 chip 128MB DIMMS, I have one)

The chip is 128Meg's and there are a total of 8 chips. 4 on each side. I was wondering if I could mix the PC100 and the PC133. I thought the computer or the chip would recognize what speed to be used at. I will try messing with the BIOS if I can. Paolo where would I go to try and run it at CAS3-3-3 settings? Is that in the BIOS? Again thanks to all you guys for all the help and suggestions. That is why I love these forums!

I forgot say that when the pc133 ram is in the computer by itself the computer doesn't even boot to the MB bios screen. All I get is no output to the monitor and beeping from my computer. Also when I tried both dimms in my motherboard the computer boots but the pc133 isn't recognized saying I have 128 meg in but I really have 256 meg's. However when I look in SiSoft Sandra at the memory specs I can see specs for the memory. So this memory is being recognized by the motherboard but not when I boot up! ?????????
