I am planning to build my new computer. I am replacing an Intel III 700mhz and plan to build the following:

SN25P
Athlon X2 4400+
1 or 2 GB Crucial Ballistic RAM
Plextor 716 DVR
Segate 250 GB hard drive
NV 6800GT video

Any recommendations?
 
Plextor is nice, but overrated; get an NEC 3540

6800GT's are great cards for the money, but personally I would wait for a 7800GT or go all out on the 7800GTX.

That's quite a jump you're wanting to make. Are you sure it's not too much computer for you? 😉
