I've been holding off on these for a while... so I finally bit the bullet.
All in all I like it.
Once I set the TV to movie mode (and seemingly it turns off the DNIe), things looked superb. I never realized what kind of calibration it takes to make these things look nice.
Though, I was thinking, should I have gone 1080p? After upgrading from my Tube TV I am quite happy...but the tech junkie in me says I should have gone 1080p.
Will Blu-Ray or HD DVD present a problem for a 720p/1080i TV if the DVD is encoded in 1080p? How long until Cable starts broadcasting in 1080p? This troubles me. Even using my upconverted DVD's it seems quite nice. Honestly, I was thinking that an upconverted standard DVD would look worse on a 1080p set.
Any help is appreciated.
BTW, I don't really game on it...I have a PS2 and play some Baulders Gate 2, but that's about it.
