Pupillary Distance?

On the recommendation of some people on here, I'm trying an online eyeglass seller. I measured my own PD before I ordered a couple days ago and got 63mm. I started to get nervous though and didn't want to receive a pair of glasses that were screwed up so I just got back from the eye doctor and he said that my PD was 62mm...

Should I leave the order at 63mm or try and change it? How bad is it to be 1mm off?

Right, I'm not questioning his measurement, just wondering if I should go through the hassle of changing my online order that has already been placed with my prior measurements.

1mm is only .5 on each eye. My opinion (my opinion only) is that it should not make much of a difference. I used to sell glasses and would measure PD for kids, adults, and sometimes the mentally challenged, and they would never stare straight at the green light. I doubt that all my PD measurements were perfect.

Just curious, but what method did you use to measure it? I'm thinking about buying a pair of prescription sunglasses online.

No, I doubt it will make a difference. I probably was off more than that ordering my pair (I used a printable ruler to measure the distance, lol) and it was fine when I got my pair.

Hope you get your glasses and everything is good 🙂 Let us know when they arrive.

i ordered glasses online for $8 and measured my PD myself with a ruler in a mirror. i know i was probably way off but they work well, so i don't think exact distance is that important.
