I'm assembling a new system with these components:

Athlon X2 3800+
Asus A8N-SLI (not deluxe)
Antec TP-II 550
Corsair VS PC3200 512 x 2
eVGA 6800 GS
WD 250 Gig SATA-II drive

Following Zebo's excellent guide, I started with the chipset FSB overclock. I set the CPU multipler to 5X, memory speed to 100 Mhz, HTT to 3, PCI to 33.33, PCI-E to 100 and began to crank up the FSB speed. Any speed I've tested over 230 locks the board! I've tried different SATA ports, voltages, memory timings and updated the bios without benefit.

The Motherboard temp is 38C, and the chipset HSF is fairly warm with the fan spinning and I have two 80 mm fans blowing cool air right on the chipset. Can it be that this is all this motherboard is capable of? I know the 3800+ would be capable of so much more.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Among A8N line-up, only A8N-SLI Premium and A8N-E are capable of HTT above 300. Any other A8N is limited at about HTT 250. (BTW, this is for all the early NF4 mobos)
