I disagree. I've made it that way twice and while it was great, it wasn't that much better and the effort certainly was not worth it.

You might be surprised as what they classify as pumpkin. The "pumpkin" in canned pumpkin is usually one of the following: Delicata Squash, Cushaw Squash or the Gooseneck Squash. The first two being the most commonly used as a pumpkin substitute.
 
I am going to make a pumpkin pie with real pumpkin next week in celebration of American Thanksgiving. I'm excited.

medium ones

well, at least that is what the pharmacies around me keep saying and have for the past 6mos. i have ended up w/ some packaged units - in a blister pack. i hear you, they don't take away the pain fully when you are decently fucked up, just take off the edge. i guess it is better for me that way because i am an idiot and if take enough meds so i don't have pain i end up doing too much and hurting myself worse....life, interesting
