We don't usually celebrate Halloween, in fact we don't even give out candy. Yeah I know that's mean, but hay it's not my idea :( Anyway it's been some years since I carved a pumpkin and I want to do one this year. In years past I've specialized in some pretty good spider web designs, these were intricate laced spider webs. Like this, only bigger, more rings and no spider:

But I'd like to do something different this year. Anyone have any good ideas? Nothing that would take insane skills but otherwise I'm pretty handy with the knife.

see if you can do something like this:

Yeah I've seen that before. Really epic. The 2nd one looks almost doable if I had a stencil or something. But other than being really complex I find the theme of the 2nd one kind of boring.

I'm going to try burning an image with a laser. It may or may not work, but it would be cool to try.

Just saw a picture of one sitting in a "chair" with a hole in the seat. It was holding a newspaper and had a strained look on its face. Below the chair was a row of pie tins. On the left, tins containing crusts with no filling. Underneath the chair, a partially-filled pumpkin pie. To the right, full pumpkin pies. A stalled conveyor belt would complete the illusion.
