Hm, seems interesting. Smells of snake oil, but possibly not.

Hmm...

I call nonsense.

I'd like to know a little more about how it works.

Their numbers and explination is garbage. 1,000,000 watts? Uh huh.

It doesn't really make any sense... the air in the gap has to be ionized to let the arc form nomatter what. I don't see how any energy is going to be saved by doing it differently.

And it certainly isnt going to increase the energy at the arc by like 10,000%...

I think it boils down to the fact that it really isn't hard to light compressed fuel/air on fire, and while yes.. this process does matter to overall combustion, we've reached a point where combustion chamber design and such is far more important than the means of ignition.

Although, I'm certainly open to all advancements in ICE technology, this just screams bullshit.

Spark plugs are a small but important parts of the combustion engine. But not THAT important.
This would be like inventing a fuel pump that pumps 200 gallons a minute.
Impressive specs, but wouldn't help much.

I'd like to see more info on these. It sounds promising, but like has been said, smells like snake oil. I'm going to some research.
Edit: a capacitor could create a discharge as described on the page linked by the OP. Very high voltage, very low current.

There's a link on that site to download the popular science article on these plugs in PDF format: Popular Science Article linked on this site

Thats not really an 'article' it's Pulstar's ad in Popular Science.

And yeah, it smells like snake oil - you just need to start the detonation - doesn't matter how right?

And if it says it makes your ignitions more 'consistent', you probably have other problems to worry about.
