I've been holding off on a complete upgrade for about a year and a half now and largely due to frequent BSOD's while gaming lately, I think the time is ripe.

First off, here are the components and pricing:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3R - CPU/MoBo Combo: $293.98 (+$15 MiR)

OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1066 - $65.99 (+$20 MiR)

COOLER MASTER UCP RS700-AAAAA3 700W
COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black PSU/Case Combo: $189.99

XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler - $29
XIGMATEK ACK-I7751 Retention Bracket

Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000GLFS 300GB - 229.99 (+$30 MiR)

Creative PCI Express 1x Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium - $99.99

That works out to $950 shipped (less $65 if rebates pan out).

Couple of things I'm having last minute thoughts about. Not sure if my current PSU (500w, see sig) is suitable for this rig or not (I'll be adding 2 more hard drives as well...), if so, I could save $189 by keeping my current case and PSU but that Case/PSU combo deal seems pretty decent and to be honest I'm sick of my current case anyhow.

I also saw AT's recommendation in the system guide for the SILVERSTONE ST70F. Any thoughts on how these two PSU's compare? I've read some pretty good things about the CM but I dont know much at all about Silverstone PSU's.

I'm hoping to do some medium OC if possible though I have no experience at all in that arena so it may or may not ever happen. I game a LOT, and little else that requires much of a PC.

Anyhow, if any of you have thoughts on the above (fit, function, whatever), I would love to hear them before I take the plunge...

Case is personal preference, of course. Don't get it just for the combo though. There are many other options for that price or less which will power your rig fine.

You can also consider trying out the on board sound before buying a discrete sound card. If it's satisfactory you save 100 bucks.
