WTF, why are you arguing with everyone in this thread?

Yes your license plate cover is probably illegal
Yes your tint could be illegal
No it doesn't matter if the tint was on the car when you bought it

Lots of red light cameras issue the first citation as a warning. Just like running the toll on a Turnpike.

OP got lucky cuz he could have gotten a ticket cuz the cop really seemed like he wanted to pull him over cuz he started to speed up. Probably cuz he saw him looking at him in the mirror and cuz of that. Cuz.

You should be thankful the only thing that's dark is the windows on your car, or you wouldn't be able to make this QQ thread and end up in jail or body bag instead.

He stopped you because your car matched one driven by a suspect. He used the tint and license plate cover as an excuse to pull you over.

It's called a fishing expedition. The cop was using the tint as an excuse to get lucky and nab you for something else.

Pennsylvania Window Tint Law

Windshield No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 70% of light in

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/PA/

70% is barely slightly darker than stock car glass so you have any tint on and you're f'd. Don't blame anyone other than yourself.

You didn't get a ticket so what are you bitching about?
