Do ***NOT*** put any kind of solvent on it, except as an absolute last resort. That definitely includes things like oxyclean. Most new carpet is treated in one way or another with anti-stain chemicals, but once you put a real cleaner onto it, it eats away the protective layer and then it is stained for good...
DO try to clean it using an ungodly amount of warm (possibly slightly soapy - tiny bit of dish soap) water. Pour water onto the middle of the stain (a lot) and then try to sop it up with a clean rag. See if you start transferring the stain to the rag as you sop up the water. If that works, your best bet might be to rent a carpet cleaner - but again, just use water!
Try this first - after all, it can't hurt any more than it is now. Other chemicals might.
