My good friend and and flying partner of 20 years has had a stroke at 51. We are hopeful for a recovery but he is struggling to just get around. The stairs at this house are impossible for him:(
He is needing help finishing his house repairs so he can rent it out, since the market is so bad for selling right now. I will be going over on Saturday to get a handle on the job.
I know there is tile work, a little electrical, sheet rock, installing pre-hung doors and the like.
I can do all that but it would be slower, and frankly I don't want to work alone.
I'm putting out the call to see if some other craftspeople are out of work like me, and willing to lend a hand in the Renton area. There is no money for this; he and his new wife are in serious financial trouble. I will probably be buying materials out of my pocket.
Thanks for reading this and thank any of you who are willing to lend a hand in spirit if not in reality.

Maybe you could try some flyers in local churches. If I weren't on the other side of the country, I'd give you a hand.

Thank you for the suggestion. That you would be willing to help in spirit is just as good for me.:)

What's your overall estimate for time and skill level? I've got a group of friends/Bible study crew in Newcastle who might be persuaded to help out for a day or two, but few of us have any experience with construction (other than one person.)

I have to look at it before I would be able to give a good estimate. Help like that is always welcome. As far as skill level, I'd be willing to teach some of it as we go. I'll send you a PM.

Thanks Mugs.

AreaCode707's offer has really warmed my heart. My mom has been gone only three weeks now, and I really really did not want to do this alone.
