In the time people spend looking at those things, they could just as easily go out and get the real thing - so I've never seen the point...

As to porn in libraries, I live in Utah so it'd be a cold day in hell before they did that. As it is, BYU doesn't even allow facial hair, revealing clothing, or co-ed housing - so I think the porn at the library wouldn't go over so well there.

Is this a frequent thing outside of Utah? Because I've never seen it here ever, and I'm actually a bit shocked that they would/could do it.

my school carried playboy, playgirl, and maybe penthouse. Never saw them though because people would take them up to the stacks as soon as they were available and never put them back.

What is weird is that they are just on the magazine shelf where any kid from the city can come and view them.

believe it or not, there are actual articles in there, and even if they weren't, they can still be used as cultural artifacts (well, the older ones). i think this is the reasoning behind the library's decision... i doubt they did it to appease the libido of some horny guys.

So you're saying if bestiality magazines had better articles, they'd have a better shot at being in the local library?

I don't argue the point that playboy has decent (if not exceptional) articles that often don't even pertain to sex, but we're splitting hairs here. Let's not beat around the bush: most people buy the magazine for the pictures of naked women, not the stimulating discourse contained within the pages.

i do not believe beastiality mags have had *nearly* as large of an influence on our society and culture as playboy has.

the question is not why people buy it, the question is whether the magazine has any significant academic value.

Yes i do. It's a little more hardcore (though still on the weak side) and they have the call-in show, which I find interesting. ;)

PLUS- you don't have to worry about all those crappy articles! ;)

I never know what 'fap fap fap' meant until now.

Ah Yes.... the sound of pages being flipped as young minds discover, explore and experience.
