When the stop light you are at cycles THREE TIMES and none of those times turns green for you, you might have to pull forward a little bit to trip the sensor.

Yet another PSA, but for Traffic Engineers:

A traffic light at the intersection of a major highway and a road that leads to the local college should first let forward traffic go in both directions, then let left turn traffic go in both directions. It should not give each side both through and left turn lights for one-minute periods. That is unless you don't mind a 1-mile backup starting about 20 minutes before each class.
