I had used the M7NCG 400 in my Scanner PC project. That PC is now disassembled, as it had no use once completed - I built another fileserver, and I no longer needed a Linux router. But anyway, I thought it had an overheating problem due to the confined spaces of the scanner's casing.

However, when the components went into my dad's system, I got the same problems - slight graphic corruption during Windows setup, and a BSOD when booting Windows XP. No amount of changes to the speed, timings, or voltage had any effect.

I then read one review on Newegg that mentioned memory compatibility problems. So I swapped out the Value Golden Dragon with a stick of Buffalo PC3200 that wouldn't POST at 200MHz on any other motherboard. The two misfits work together perfectly.

So just consider this an announcement - and hope that Google picks it up for anyone else searching - the MSI M7NCG 400 will crash or BSOD with Geil Value Golden Dragon RAM.
