God I can't even browse the forums with this connection. I thought librarys had half decent connections. 🙁

Looks ok to me, why would you need more speed than that for browsing the internet? Close that porn download in the background?

upload speed needs to be higher.

you could hvae 30Mb/s down and if up is 0.01 ur connection will still suck. Wonder if somebody has uploads running on one of the systems.

Hmmm it seems to speed up for like 2 minutes and then will just freeze loading a page for another 2 minutes then the next few pages are fine etc. Stupid library.

Library interwebz connection is free, so stop whining. 😛

Edit. I just saw that you are slower than 90% of US. I feel bad now. 🙁

Try mentioning it to the library staff.

They may have the IT people try to determine what the problem is.

Otherwise without mentioning; you deserve what you are receiving.

The internet at the public library that I most frequently visit is around 10Mbps over some 30 workstations. x\
On a good day when there's hardly anyone there, I'll get about 100KBps when I'm downloading drivers/PS3 firmware. On a bad day, 15-30KBps if it'll download at all.

Also Libraries are not free they are paid for by taxes :colbert:

the cable tv/ internet in the public buildings, schools and libraries here are city-mandated free to the city. the cable provider passes that along to us customers as fees and taxes. a few years ago there was a big stink that people in mesa paid 300%+ more fees/ taxes than any other city in the valley. hate that.
