(A LOT of stuff). After she was done loading she grabbed her buggy and went back into the store to finish her shopping. I think about this everytime somebody is waiting for my parking spot.
you're supposed to flip them off as you're going back in ><

Fixed.

I hate waiting for parking. I will park far away just so I don't have to sit in my car forever just to find a spot in the front.

Haha, I never do. (Well, maybe if it's like Christmas Eve or something.) Another personal favorite is to walk nearly all the way down the aisle, then cut over two or three aisles to where I'm really parked. That will teach them to plan better so they don't have to follow people around like little mall-stalkers.

Fuck parking all the way at the back. I'm not going to walk half a mile outside on a cloudless, 108F day.

Like others have said: its is just lazyness. I too laugh at them when I pull in after them yet I enter the stores minutes before them.

Then when I leave, I walk in front of a lurker, visibly get out my keys, walk to a car (with them following me the whole way), then quickly move over 3 rows to my car. It is so funny watching them in anger knowing that they'll miss the chance to take my spot (the same spot that someone else refused and lurked 5 minutes to avoid).

I assumed the OP was discussing the "massive parking lot fighting for the 3 front spaces" phenomenon. Obviously if there are no spaces there are a variety of tactics that must be employed, including camping.

That's what I assumed too. Where I live there are large parking lots that are never full yet people drive around and sit in their cars waiting for a close spot. I wish I had some light to shed on this subject for you but I don't understand it either.

I like doing that. Or going to my car - opening my trunk getting something out and then walking back inside.

On the other side of things I did get out of my car once when I was behind someone blocking the lane while she was waiting for a spot. I waited a couple of minutes and when I realized there were (I kid you not - I counted) 9 cars behind me, unable to go anywhere, I got out of my car and knocked on her window. I think I freaked her out but she moved

I totally get what you are saying, but sometimes like when you are downtown or in other crammed spaces where one open spot is hard to come by I can see how it makes sense. But is most lots that are empty towards the back it is just silly.

Because people are lazy. I see it all the time. A half-emply car park and yet people will just cruise around in circles trying to get a park right in front. I just go straight to the back and walk in.

Then again I'm not a fat bastard.

Makes it easier to get out too. Don't get caught up in the congestion these idiots cause.

Only thing I ever do is look around for an elusive pull-through spot that's typically away from other cars :p. Means it's easier to get out and the chance of some idiot smashing his door into mine is lower, but that also means I'm usually parking near the back of the lot, which doesn't bother me.

Personally, I hate these types of people (if there are more available spots), because they tend to hold up traffic. I know I've been held up quite a few times by these inconsiderate excuses for human beings.

Today leaving REI there was a lady waiting a couple minutes (I was deciding which route to take home) for me to get into my car and leave, when there were two open spaces one space down from my car. My brain almost shut down.

Laziness.

If I don't see a spot close up I'll just head straight to the empty areas or start searching for the spots farthest away and walk.

Am I the only one that doesn't like walking outside when it's as hot as it is here? I'll park anywhere when the temperature isn't scorching.

It's currently 108F here.

Dude, we're hardly talking about a trek through Death Valley. Just a couple of minutes walk to the mall. 108 wont kill you in 2 minutes.

You live in a dessicated godforsaken hellhole. Just man up and deal with it. Most people live in places where the median temperature is below blast-furnace level.

Mall? Who goes to the mall?

It takes like 10 minutes to walk from the back of the top floor of the parking garage at work (where all the open spots are) to the elevator. Having to walk outdoors here during the summer is like a death sentence and no one want so come into work all sweaty and smelly unless there are showers at work. In early spring, late fall and winter I happily run up and down the stairs and walk all the way across the parking lot.

Yes, that's a great description for this place. I wish I could leave.

Because it's the most efficient way to get a parking spot in a crowded or full parking lot. Driving around when you see somebody leaving? Are you stupid? Back in college, I used to get rides to my car in the parking lot from people looking for parking spots.

Do it at school all the time. We don't have enough parking and the odds are great that if you're the first to squat on a row you'll get a parking spot within 5 mins, whereas just driving around aimlessly hoping to catch someone backing out is a lot less likely to be successful.
