I have heard of universities working in this area. So whats the story?

Absolutely not. Need I make another gigantic thread about another pseudoscience? It's probably not worth it considering the tiny percentage of ATOTers who would actually believe in something so ridiculous.
 
If someone could move objects with their mind or Astro travel. Which would be harder if it were real. Moving an object or astro travel. I say Moving an object is the hardest to develop.

If someone displayed these abilities would governments allow them to live? NO!

I think they would be killed . I also reason . If someone had these abilities . They be advanced enough to know not to speak of these things. Other than like near death experiences people have had.

 
When I meditate, I can leave my body and travel through the astral plains. I can physically manipulate things with my mind as well. I thought all ATOTers could do this kind of stuff.
 
I have the deja vu' effect often

Sometimes I can finish people's sentances before they finish talking, I feel like I've been in an area before that I've never been before, I sometimes randomly say things to my wife and then she will say something like "Dude, that was the same thing I'm looking at in my crossword puzzle or I had that song in my head too"


Not enough to be psychic though, It's alot of chance + some type of brain fart

They could speak of it all they want. No one would believe them. They could do a world tour where they came directly into the homes of thousands of people and put their talents on display and even the people who saw it in person would write it off as a clever trick. It would take some sort of freakishly powerful talent like the little girl in "Fire Starter" or something to even make anyone take a second look.

Ya I think we all do. Pretty common dream state reflections.

 
Who knows, alot of interesting work in physics that can relate to this somewhat, as well as some observations, but its another one of those things that even if it occurs naturally, will not come to light before we develop abilities to synthetically reproduce it. (chips in brain that allow you to communicate without talking ect, ability to use neurons to use chips to say..turn your tv on by just thinking about it ect.)

In summary: No, there is no such thing as a psychic. Look up James Randi on wikipedia and youtube. He debunks psychics and their embarrassment is usually good for a chuckle or two.
