What type of wattage do you guys think I should be looking at to power the list below? Im running the following:

XP Pro x86
Asus P5N-E SLI
C2D E6600 stock @ 2.4ghz OC?d @ 3-3.2ghz
2x1024mb TwinX 6400C4D
2x1024mb TwinX 6400C4
2x150gb WD Raptor Raid 0
1x300gb Seagate Barracuda SATA II
2xBFG 8800 GT OC
Soundblaster X-Fi Pro Fatality (with console)
Plextor SATA CD/DVD DL writer combo

Oh and
2x120mm fan (one on the case and one on the TRUE)
3x92mm fans (all on the case)

Im running a ThermalTake 600W Pure Power and I cant get the 2nd video card to go into SLI. Both cards work independently but do not want to go into SLI. I did have both in SLI but only up for 2 days last week and then now it just doesn?t see the 2nd card anymore. Both fans are running though but the one on the 2nd pci-e never drops to a lower RPM like it should shortly after posting. I would imagine I have plenty of power because the fan does run but not sure what your thoughts are. I?m trying to eliminate it being the PSU without buying a 1Kw and that still not being the issue?

600W is more than enough provided there are enough amps on the 12V rails.

If you do need a new PSU, good options would be Seasonic S12 II 500, M12 II 500 or Corsair HX520, VX550.

Have you tried without the overclock?

Yeah I thought 600w should be enough and Ive been trying everything at stock just to try to get it to recognize the hardware. For a couple days last week I actually got it up and running after a fresh OS install. The card was recognized and I was able to enable SLI. For that brief moment, I actually saw both cards in the device manager. Then, the next day, only 1 card showed. I thought that was weird. Ive since then reinstalled windows XP Pro X86 and both Vista Ultimate x86 and x64 to no avail.

I wonder if its my board. Because the p5n-e sli uses a hard switch card to go from single to dual vga's. Other than that flaw it has been an AWESOME board with really good overclocking. I think its got to do somehowwith that switch card or the pci bus between the 2. Because like I was saying, I noticed both fans run but only one drops to a lower rpm after posting...

well, I guess I'll be moving over to the MOBO forums here shortly to see whats good about the 780i

Thanks for the heads up on the PSU's though! My next one will definitely have modular cables support.... nothing like a bunch of unused zip tied cables stuff in an empty drive bay to make ya go nuts!!
