Can anyone tell me what the "remote line" is from the PSU?

I got an email from Enermax tech support saying a problem I have might be the remote line or the mobo.

When I use a PSU tester, all the leds light except for '-5V' ... does that have anything to do with the 'remote line?'

Don't know what a remote line is. But I've got a noisetaker and the -5v line doesn't work either (MBM5 reports it's acutally positive). Hasn't hurt anything, runs fine. I've been told the -5v isn't really used anymore.
