I have a DEER power supply which I was very happy with. It was very quiet, but only supplies 250W. After reading some forums, I have read many horrors stories about DEER PSU's frying people's computers. Since I was adding another hard drive to my computer, I thought I would upgrade my PSU as a precaution. I've heard good things about Enermax and it's Whisper series of PSU's. Recently, I picked up the 330W Whisper. I am extremeley unhappy with this PSU. It is a crime to call it "Whisper," I think the term "Megaphone" is more appropriate. I am searching for ways to quiet it down. Any help would be appreciated.

I am a bit hesitant to spend $80 on a PCPC or a QuietPC unit.

Hi ModelM sorry to hear about your PSU problems maybe I can offer some advice. I don't know of any ways to slow down the RPM on a PSU fan and that would probably be a fire hazard anyway. But I can tell you I myself own a FuturePower 400w and it's as quite at a mouse. I got it from www.allstarmicro.com with a case I bought. IMO it's a very good PSU that I haven't had any problems with. Hope that helps.
