PSU woes!!

I've been having lots of trouble with my new vid card lately. I'd get a screen of artifacts and lockups and when i did a restart the bios screen and post screen were full of artifacts. The only thing that helped was waiting a little while and try to start the pc again. Even then it didn't work. I then changed the power plug going to the 6800 and it started up without any artifacts. Everything ran just fine for a few hours then i'd get the lockups again, and i'd hafta change the plug.

I assume its my Tagan 480watt psu since i just swapped in my generic 350 watt, and everything works ok without any lock ups.

Anywho I'm gonna rma my tagan... Should i get another tagan or antec?

How's your case ventilation?

Might be heat.

its fine my 6800 idles 40 and load is about 50

and case temp is around 30

should i get the antec or stick with another tagan? the tagan isn't that much worse than the antec is it?

get the antec, why get another tagan when its obvious it cant do the job....

I concur. I've had good luck with Antec.

I couldn't answer that. I can just say that Antec is a well known, and well respected brand.

how about getting a QUALITY psu? (Enermax, OCZ, PCP&P)

Tagan is a well known manufacturer of PSUs, and they make good product. If you can get another Tagan free on RMA, I'd say try that. If not, go ahead for the Antec...Tagan is good, but I think Antec edges them...
