PSU Voltages question

Hi, I got an enermax liberty 500W PSU and I just installed HardwareMonitor. After opening it up, I noticed that the +3.3V shows +1.54V voltage. Its highlighted in red. Is that something I should be worried about ? Should I take a screenshot of it for you guys to see? The PSU is brand new - only a month old. I was thinking that the +3.3V line isn't giving off the juice its supposed to. Any ideas?

Try the motherboard vendor's utility or everest instead. Hardware monitor might not be right.

Better yet, use a digital multimeter.

A DMM is the only way to check voltages.

I don't have any DMM lying around. What about through bios? Does the bios show correct voltages or not?

Try MotherboardMonitor or SpeedFan, if they all agree you probably have a problem.

Hmm, they both show that. Damn, what am I supposed to do now? Is the psu messed up or do I have to change some setting ?

Software agrees like 99% of the time with each other. That doesn't mean jack. The ONLY WAY TO measure voltage is with a DMM. Go buy yourself one.

It should read correctly in the BIOS or the hardware monitor software that came with the mobo. If that voltage was really as low as you say, your computer wouldn't run - the Power Good signal from the PSU would never trip. I agree with the posters above that recommended using a DMM to be sure. There are ones that should be good enough to measure most PC voltages for around $10. and better ones with more features for $20. and up. A nice Craftsman unit from Sears that normally sells for about $20. is often on sale for around $12. and sometimes less. Check the Sears flyers in the Sat or Sun papers where you live or check the Sears web site. And http://www.bgmicro.com usually has a good selection at decent prices.
. Every PC user should probably have one unless they want to be running to a tech all the time. Comes in handy for lots of household chores.
