PSU Volt-modding

I have an Antec NeoPower 480w PSU and my rails suck (I'll probably have to get ahold of Antec and have it RMAed, actually), but I need to find out how to do a mod to up my 3.3v rail for use with my BH5 and my Lanparty NF3 motherboard (which will allow for up to a 4.0v vDIMM), but I need to find out how to mod the rail to allow that much juice off of the 3.3v line.

And while I'm at it, it would actually be ice to find out how to mod each of the rails to help with fine-tuning, just in case I need it. 😉

And no, if I need to RMA it, I won't do a mod until I get it replaced.

TIA!

dude, i wouldn't touch modding your 3.3v rail with a ten foot pole... seriously, rma it and save yourself some trouble, and possible pain

Really? Why? I've read about people doing it all the time back with the Antec Truepower line to get the most out of their BH5, and right now 3.1v isn't cutting it.

But yeah, I'm probably going to RMA it, but first I want to check my readings with a multimeter just to see (speedfan is reporting my 12v line at 11.52v)

Are you sure your readings are correct?
Did you check them with a multimeter?

Heck Speedfan says my Samsung hard disk is running 14C. Do I believe it?
NO. In a room that is roughly 22C that isn't possible.

You bios is translating readings from onboard chips. (sometimes wrongly)

The only readings you can truely trust are taken with accurate testing equipment.
I wouldn't even try to adjust your rails unless you are positive of your readings.

14c, huh? We could only wish... 😉

Well, I just took a DMM to my ATX connector and a couple of molexes and everything seems okay (a little over, but not too much), so it appears that an RMA won't be neccesary (but I will monitor it for a few more days).

But I know that people have been doing mods on both mobos and PSUs to get more vDIMM , and that's all I need to find out. I'll already have the BIOS thing handled, now I just need to figure out the PSU part of the puzzle...
Any ideas on that?
