PSU Recommendation

Specs:
MSI K8N Neo2 Plat.
AMD 3200+ 90nm
160GB WD
80x2 Maxtor
52X LG burner
DVD-ROM/CD Burner combo
eVGA 6800 128mb AGP

Right now I'm using a generic 550W to power the above with a p4 2.6 + mobo and ATI video.
Voltages seem to be way out of wack on my mobo monitor. And what should I expect for <50 bucks.
Anyway, planning to later add some more HDs, probably a 74gb 10000rpm SATA and/or 300gb SATA drive, so keep that in mind, and as well, I would like to be able to O/c the system and not worry that my PSU is what's keeping me back.
As well, I'd like to keep the cost below 125 if possible
 
You can get an Enermax Noisetaker 470W for $99, which has a combined 31A on the 12V rails (12V1: 16A, 12V2: 15A). For others, just make sure it's a name brand, and has a healthy amount of amps on the 12V rails.

Personally, I like the Antec NeoPower 480W that's powering my current rig...

I wouldn't... only 19A on the 12V rail is low. Plus, it's only a 350W PSU which is why it's low priced to begin with. The mail-in rebate (those SUCK since they can decide to not honor them and then you're boned) shouldn't have any weight when it comes to picking a PSU.

It's more then enogh for that system. If you want more power for whatever reason there 400+ watt Seasonic's just under $100.
 
For just under $100 you could get the OCZ modstream 450w. Its a modular power supply, and it has very good amps on the 12v rail, 26 i think.
 
I have an enermax 495ax. I recommend it over the older 475. It offers 18a max on both rails, where as the older model offered only 15 on the non mb rail. Considering how much juice some video cards eat these days, coupled with your other drives and fans, it's nice to have that extra overhead.
 
I would get the Antec NeoPower if I were you! I bought one a month ago and this thing is Quiet and Powerful! Modular, Active PFC, Dual 12v rails, 120mm fan, 33amps on 12v line, and ATX 2.0 compat. What else do you need?? Great PSU for your system specs w/ a lot of room for upgrades man ...consider it 😀

That's the PSU that's powering my rig... No problems with it, and I am using all of the feeds coming off of it.
 
I ended up going with the thermaltake 560w, had good specs and lots of features and it was cheaper than antec, ocz around the same wattage

Omg. Why dont you READ the other million threads. That thermaltake is very poor quality, and is loud. Definately NOT for a system like you have. I definately would have gone with Seasonic, OCZ, Antec, Enermax... NOT TT. TT is for flashy entry level systems.

Among other problems TT has VERY weak rails.
