PSU recommendation

OK, I'm building a new rig, and the last thing I'm deliberating on is the PSU. (The reason I'm picking it last was because earlier on I wanted to shoot for an ESA design, until I realized there was really only the Tagan 1100, which is overkill.)

Here's what I'm planning to power on it:
ASUS Striker II Formula
Intel Q6600
4 GB DDR2 RAM
2 EVGA Superclocked 8800 GTs
Killer NIC
Some sound card (to be added later)
Matrix Orbital Front Panel LCD

Any recommendations? I'm looking for one that's pretty quiet, and I won't probably be overclocking this much (except for the CPU, and only a bit.)

I'd get at least a 600w PSU of a qaulity brand. With your powerdraw easily nearing 350w, I'd want something around 750w. Here's a cheap option, check jonnyguru for reviews of it, it was pretty good: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817182067 Around 140$ there's also the etasis 750w, the coolermaster real power pro 750w, or the corsair 750tx.

If you want modular you're quickly looking at something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817256011

Thank you, and yes, I did want modular, so that looks to be the frontrunner. I did notice it on newegg, but wasn't sure of the quality.....

Any other recommendations? I was sure more people would like to come in and voice their opinion/bash others, I mean this is a message board after all..... 🙂

Old or not, the Power Supplies are all still excellent power supplies. All of the Power Supplies listed in this thread except for the Rosewill are on that list.

If you need concrete suggestions though...

Thermaltake Toughpower 750 Watt Cablemanagement

It is modular, it is made by CWT which is one of the better OEMs out there and it is under $170 (newegg has very high prices for PSUs)

Thanks for the recommendation, sorry if you feel insulted, lol, I just didn't really get the company names...... How can you tell who the maker is, anyway?

I know that this is off topic, but have you looked at many reviews on the Killer NIC? I haven't heard much good about it.
