I'm looking to upgrade my server. But if I do so I'll have to upgrade my power supply as well. With my current one I have to leave one of the hard drives unplugged and swap the plug with another drive when I need it due to the PSU not having enough power. I have no idea of its rated wattage.
The system I need to power:
AMD 800MHz Slot A
384MB memory
8MB Diamond video card
NIC
SoundBlaster 16
Highpoint 454 RAID controler
10GB IBM HD
40GB Maxtor HD
20GB Quantum Bigfoot HD
3x Seagate 300GB HDs in mobile trays w/one 40MM fan each
CD-RW Drive
2x 80MM system fans.
The PSU I'm looking at getting to power this thing is a PC Power & Cooling S36ATX. Also managed to find a pretty good deal on it. Now I know this PSU is only rated at 360W, but I think that would be enough. All the machine does is act as a file/ftp server for maybe 5 users and burn the occasional CD. Besides PC P&C PSUs are the best you can get and should have no problem. I am however open to suggestions for a different PSU that could handle this system. Needs to have a 20pin MB connector and cost less than $65 shipped. Ideas?
