This PSU, which I am thinking about getting, apparently does not have a connector for a PCI-Express vid card, according to a review at the newegg.com page linked to above.

Does this mean this PSU will not support a PCI-Express vid card or will the vid card just draw power through the PCI-express port?

This will be better.

In hindsight I tend to agree, but I have already ordered teh CM. :(

So will the one I got support my 6600GT PCI-express?

the CM was tested by SilentPC and it runs more efficiently than the Modstream. The plus to the Modstream is no more dang unused cable clutter. Both PS's seems to be a good mid-range alternative. As for PCI-Express power connector, just use an adapter

All you need is a molex adapter I think. They usually come with vid cards.

And will it power a PCI-express graphics card??

of course

But only w/ an adapter?

yup, the CM does not have 6 pin PCI-E connector. the adapters will run a $5-10, if the vicard don't automatically come with one

Did you order your vid card along with that PSU? If so chances are the adapter you need will be included with that vid card for sure.

Yes, they are both part of the same order at Newegg, but is there a way to verify that I will definitely recieve it??

it should, then you're all set. the CM Real Power 450 gets pretty high marks, it's a good PS. I like the high power efficiency it offers, saves you some money on power bills

The AGP 6600GT needs external power, but the PCI-E version can draw enough power throught the PCI-E x16 slot.
