How many and what kind of video cards. It is inefficient to get a too powerful a PSU.

If you have 3-4 video cards and/or 6-10 hard drives, then such a PSU might be worth it. If you just have 1-2 video cards and 1-3 hard drives, though, you'll probably be fine with a 500-750W unit.

Antec Signature 850 would be a much quieter choice, also very good quality.

Use a PSU calculator and make SURE you need all that power.

I'm running a balls to the wall overclocked Q9550, 2 hard drives, and a GTX260 Core 216 just fine on 620W, and I've got enough juice for a few more hard drives or another graphics card. Unless you're running triple SLI, a RAID10 array, and a 5 GHz i7, you don't need 1.3 kW.

I still have an Enermax Revolution 950 im using with my 8400 that I could just shift into the i7 build and ...sell off the 8400. I might do that.
