PSU problem, Help needed before RMA

Ive had my newly upgraded system running around 3 weeks with some strange bsod erros and a couple random restarts, the only "used" part i had im my system was a albatron 5750 pci-e videocard i was borrowing until my 7800gt came in on friday. I had noticed several times the days before where id hit the power button on the case and everything would come on but no video signal would be received by the monitor, i would have to power down and power back up to get it to work properly then it would work fine for the most part after that...

then friday when my new videocard came in i went home and did nothing other then try and power it on to uninstall old videocard drivers and such(didnt crack the case open yet or anything) and i could not get a video signal, lights are on, fans are spinning just no video.

i figured my videocard had pooped out on me so i switched to my new videocard to no avail. Ive called up 2 tech support numbers for my motherboard which said it sounds like a psu problem. and i talked to another friend of mine thats really knowledgable about pc's and he said the same thing without knowing i heard that from the techs...

here is my system:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
EVGA NF4 SLI Motherboard
EVGA Nvidia 7800gt Videocard (still using the 5750 until i can get it powered on)
2x512(1gb total) OCZ Platinum Ram 3200(400)
80+120 GB WD Hard Drives
SB Live 24bit Soundcard
Fortron 450w psu

LMK what you think, otherwise this psu is getting shipped back tommorow. thanks!

*edit* i also tried taking out the sound card, and one hard drive but it didnt help...im thinking the psu isnt working correctly its not dead completely

My guess is your BIOS. I had this exact problem. Fans spinning, HDD running, no video.

This problem was one major pain in the neck, I can tell you.

Try to reset your BIOS. If that doesn't work, you might have to do a "blind flash" since you have no video, and, if this is the same problem as mine, you may need your manufacturer to send you a new BIOS chip.

i dont think its the video as the "first" card doesnt use aux. power connectors and my 7800gt does but still doesnt work when connected. As for the 2nd poster im REALLY hoping thats not it. Ill be getting a new power supply over the next couple days so ill at least try that. Otherwise if its a motherboard problem its under a lifetime warrenty so thats good but just a pain to have to rip all that out.

thx
