hi folks!
i have a concern that i would like to elicit some feedback/advice on please. having just rec'd my new copy of neverwinter nights 2, i set up the game on max settings on my old p4 rig. an hour (or several!) into the game, i was warned visually and audibly by mbm5 that my 3.3v line had reduced outside of the +/- 5% default setting. i closed the game and looked at the max/min voltage screen on mbm5. the minimum on the 3.3v line was about 3.15v. i did not consider this (in my ignorance!) to be critical, upped the percentage +/- to 7% and carried on playing....no further reminders occurred.
in order to give you guys a clue, here are the figures:
northwood d-step (30-capper) 3.2@ 3.5-ish - no overvolt
2x512mb geil pc4000 - no overvolt - 2.5/4/4/7 - spd
x850xt pe agp
hipertec 580r modular psu (rated @ load range 0.4 < 30a on 3.3v line)...about six months old
systemboard: abit ic7
should i be looking to rma the psu? or am i ok long term? (panic, sweat)
any input appreciated
additional info: having just looked at a sticky elsewhere on "high" end systems, i have learned that the 5 and 12v rails are just as important although i'd thought that cpu/mem/graphics used the 3v!!!!
so, 5v and duel 12v rails are perfectly steady. i have 1 ata hdd; one dvdwriter; one cdwriter; 3system fans and a gigabyte g-power cpu cooler.
