PSU Help

Alright well here is the deal In the mail I got an 3200+ Venice coming but the problem is I don't have a PSU that I think won't hold up to it. Right now I have 2 DDR Ram (crucial), DFI-Lanparty Ultra-D, 2 Optical Drive 1 would do for now, X300 SE Hypermemory, 1 80 Gig harddrive, 1 9 gig harddrive, 7 80 mm fans, and my PSU is a Raidmax 450 Watt PSU with 14 A on the +12 Rail. Also what is a good PSU once Iget the money to Overclock a 2x512 Twinmos ram, the 3200+ Venice,X300SE with the same stuff besides those three?

I jsut ordered a 3000+ Venice, DFI LanPArty NF4-Ultra, blah blah...

I'm ordering the fortron Blue Storm 500w for $73 bucks.

I hear it's a really good power supply and pretty cheap. Hope that helps.

Look at Antec, Seasonic, OCZ, Tagan, Fortron.

If you have an endless wallet, then Zippy and PCP&C are industrial strength (not that you would need it with that system)

A quick question. What are you doing with 7 80mm fans!?!? 4, MAYBE 5 is more than enough.

You could leave 4 or 5 of your fans off the psu, and UNDERclock the cpu some, that way the puny 12 V leg probably would carry you a couple of weeks. I've seen half a dozen sales of middle-level psu's like Super Flower and Thermaltake, for their 500 W units at good prices. Having always avoided almost any product with "Max" in its name, I was surprised recently to read on a web site from the UK, that Raidmax sells rebadged Topower psu's (same as Super Flower).

I don't know if all Raidmax psu's are Topower, same as I don't know about all Super Flower/ TTGI psu's.

😉

I wouldn't go anywhere near a Raidmax PSU, not even if i was payed to do so.

I would take 3 fans out of your case because the pressure is not at an equilibrium right now. Then i would bite the bullet and get a new PSU. That Raidmax is probably cooking your components from the inside out.
