PSU / GTX 980 Ti

I think my PSU Corsair TX 650W it's too "old " for my new GTX 980 Ti
Sometime when i reboot my PC, it reboots again and again. So i have to turn the pc off, switch off - on the button on the PSU, and then the PC reboots.
I have my PSU since 2009. Do you think it's a good idea to replace it ?

6 GB DDR3
3 X HDD ( 2 x 640 GB / 1 X 1 TB )
1 SSD
DVD RW
Sound card
Fan controller

A 650w PSU should be enough for that rig with a single 980Ti, _IF_ it's still putting out its rated output.

The reboots make me think it's probably not doing its job, and it a prime candidate for replacement. (Could also be the motherboard, but when I'm playing the "replace parts until we find the one that fixes the problem" game, I start with the cheapest component first.)

Before the upgrade ( GTX 970 ) i didn't have this issue
That's why i think the PSU is to " weak " for GTX 980Ti
It could be also the RAM, but i'm not sure.

It's possible your power supply has lost some power with age. Otherwise, I would say with certainty that's not it, because I'm using the same PSU with my 980ti without a single issue. I've owned this thing for 7 or 8 years now. And my PC stays on 24/7.

Yes, that's hard to find out who's the culprit
I'm between RAM and PSU
As i said, i have this issue only after i upgraded the GPU
I forgot to mention : sometime when i switch off the PSU from the button, there is a coil noise.
Is that normal ??

If you can't do it yourself have someone check out the PSU for you (a technician).

You can look down through the grill of the PSU and see if there's anything obvious. A swollen or leaky capacitor, for instance. That's a dead give away that the PSU has seen better days and needs to be replaced.

It could also be the card that's defective. The problem did start because of it, apparently. You don't want to muck around until the vendor RMA time is past. So don't waste too much time.

How could i stress / test / the GPU ?

Grab a Antec 700w would be enough!
